National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)

NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. NAMI provides advocacy, education, support and public awareness so that all individuals and families affected by mental illness can build better lives.

If you or someone you know is struggling, you are not alone. There are many supports, services and treatment options that may help. The NAMI HelpLine can be reached Monday through Friday, 10 am–6 pm, ET.

The NAMI HelpLine is a free, nationwide peer-support service providing information, resource referrals and support to people living with a mental health conditions, their family members and caregivers, mental health providers and the public. HelpLine staff and volunteers are experienced, well-trained and able to provide guidance.


NAMI publishes resource guides to support individuals, family and friends affected by mental illness to help navigate new or challenging experiences.
