I am a huge dog lover and am striving to find balance in my life with lots of help from Sunny and Blueberry. PsychCircular's logo is a cartoon depiction of Sunny (a Shih-tzu Maltese mix) and Blueberry (an Australian Shepard Poodle mix) against a yin yang backdrop.
Major challenges in the school psychology field include the high burnout rate and shortage of school psychologists compared to the level of student needs across the United States. Often, school psychologists are dealing with heavy caseloads and more demands than they can reasonably manage within the work day. I too briefly burned out after five years in the field. Fortunately, I found my way back to school psychology after two years away from the field. A couple of my personal goals are to maintain work - life balance and enjoy helping others without burning my personal resources. This site is an effort to ease a bit of the burden and provide practical resources for school psychologists to use for free. Interns and early career school psychologists in particular may find this site a good jumping off point for building their toolkit.
